The 20/20 Step Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) was designed to provide the clearest picture of coaxial or twisted pair cable lengths and to pin-point cable faults. Step TDR’s, unlike Pulse TDR’s, have no dead-zone on any range and they can provide an impedance (Z) reading for the cable, both graphically and digitally. |
Additionally, the 20/20 Step TDR, like the Tektronix® 1502C, can be used on either coax or twisted pair cables and provide a clearer picture of cable faults or events including: - Shorts

Frequency Domain Reflectometers (FDR) test cable at specific frequencies or frequency bands. Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR) test a cable against the manufacturer’s Characteristic Impedance, which basically tests the cable for any and all frequencies. The 20/20 TDR has eight different models depending on application and extended range models for specific cable types. They are used in broadcast, wireless, cellular, land mobile, telephone, Voice-Data-Video, RF, CATV, aerospace, military, or special applications such as Time-Based TDRs, or Project IceCube at the South Pole. Any where there is a need to test cable for high bandwidth applications our 20/20 TDR’s can accurately locate cable faults, save troubleshooting time, and reduce service call costs.
